Nominations Are Open for the GCEPD Awards

Governor Kay Ivey and the Alabama Governor's Committee on Employment of People with Disabilities (GCEPD) are calling for nominations for their annual statewide awards. These awards recognize the contributions and successes of people with disabilities and businesses and partners that provide opportunities for individuals with disabilities to achieve through competitive, integrated employment. 


The awards event will be held during National Disability Employment Awareness Month and is tentatively set for October 17.

 

The theme for NDEAM 2024, Access to Good Jobs for All, speaks to the commitment to expanding the number and quality of employment opportunities for people with disabilities. Good jobs change lives, and all workers, including workers with disabilities, deserve the opportunity to prepare for success in high-quality, good-paying jobs in workplaces free of discrimination.


The Alabama Governor's Committee is seeking nominations for the following awards: 

  • Employee of the Year – Large Business

  • Employee of the Year – Small Business

  • Employer of the Year – Large Business

  • Employer of the Year – Small Business

  • Partner Award

  • Public Service Award

  • Student of the Year Award


The attached award nomination packet includes descriptions of each award and fillable forms on which to conveniently submit your nominations. 


The deadline for submitting nominations is August 15, 2022, 5:00 pm CDSTPlease submit no later than the deadline so that winners can be notified in time to make travel plans.
