MODERN
MANUFACTURING
PROGRAM

The Modern Manufacturing Program (MMP) launched August 12, 2021. The program prepares individuals for entry-level manufacturing careers for our OEMs, such as Mercedes-Benz, Honda, Mazda-Toyota, Toyota, Hyundai, and other suppliers. The program can be applied in traditional high school career technical programs, dual enrollment programs, or adult education programs through ACCS. Participants will learn basic employability skills, safety, technical skills, and manufacturing principles needed to be successful in today's manufacturing environment. The program includes instruction in machine operations, production line operations, systems analysis, instrumentation, physical controls, automation, manufacturing planning, quality control, and informational infrastructure. All manufacturers will benefit as these students will be eligible and ready for hire once they have completed the program. School systems from four regions (North Alabama, East Alabama, West Alabama, and Central Alabama) were chosen to participate and be trained to prepare a collaborative environment for our students to connect to all levels of careers across the state.
